2.) Otherwise, I would like to know if there is a BIOS update file available for the Windows XP environment.

I will be very disappointed if there are no other options of a BIOS update if it has to be fixed by updating it within Windows Vista (in particular), which is an utmost silly restriction set by HP.

Currently I want to update my BIOS, but I couldn't because the update files available on the HP website for my particular model only supports BIOS update directly in Windows environment, and specifically with Windows VIsta.

1.) I would like to know if there is a bootable ISO version that I can update directly from boot, rather than the need to update within an operating system.

I'm not sure which file to open in setup - It also doesn't say weather it's safe to execute in windows or if I should flash it from a cd.

You click the application executive file and it opens the set up page - So do you open the Bin File or the sytem file after that - These are the files I have in the download.

A BIOS update can often fix problems and/or add features to the computer's BIOS.

Note: If you are not experiencing problems on your computer and are not aware of any additional features in the BIOS that are needed, then you may not need to perform the update.

This is the main reason I've always updated the BIOS ( Start Up Problems ) - My system seems to run pretty good in it's current configuration.

I guess with out the start up problems and the awareness of the graphic card driver being out dated I wouldn't of considered it.

If you encounter problems while updating the new BIOS, DO NOT turn off your system since this corrupt BIOS might cause your system failed to boot up.
